Before Sunset-05/03/12

Klaus acts on his intentions to leave town with Elena, but finds resistance from a surprising new enemy; Alaric the Original Vampire Hunter. Bonnie calls on Abby to help her with a spell that will stop Alaric's heart, the same desiccation spell Abby used on Mikael. When Elena tries to save Caroline who is help captive by Alaric the Salvatore brothers and Klaus rush to save her. Klaus then reveals he created the Salvatores and Caroline's bloodlines. Elena correctly assumes she is Alaric's lifeline and if she dies-he dies Klaus escapes with Elena intending to bled her dry. Tyler, Stefan and Damon use the desiccation spell on Klaus, killing him without really killing him. Elena collapses at the end of the episode.

Do not Go Gentle-04/26/12

Evil Alaric finds an ally in Esther to guide him on his dangerous path of killing vampires. At the 1920's Decade Dance Bonnie takes Jamie, Caroline convinces Elena to take Stefan and Tyler shows up to sweep Caroline off her feet. But Klaus works hard to come between them. The Dance takes a deadly turn when Damon and Stefan need Matt and Jeremy to save Elena. When Esther traps the Salvatore brothers at the school. With the help from Elena, Esther turns Alaric into an Original Vampire Vampire hunter. Esther then uses Alaric's ring to make the White Oak Stake indestructible. The real Alaric then kills Esther and decides not to complete the transition. Everyone comers to mourn the last moments of Alaric. But before Alaric truly dies, Esther compels Bonnie to fed him her blood.

Heart of Darkness-04/19/12

Stefan tells Elena that she has feelings for Damon, so he sends them on a trip together to make sure Jeremy is safe in Denver. Damon and Elena find Jeremy and ask if he can talk to Rose on the other side- but Kol interrupts him. Damon stakes him (but doesn't kill him) Stefan fails to get Alaric's evil alter ego to show uo till Klaus snaps his neck. The last stake was in the cave where no vampire can get through. Tyler returns to town and him and Caroline have a romantic moment. Esther shows up to talk to Rebekah but ends up randomly dying.

The Murder of One-03/29/12

Damon and Stefan make plans to destroy Klaus with their new weapon. Klaus and Rebekah convince Finn to break the link when they reunite him with Sage. Rebekah gets carried away with her plans for revenge against Damon. Klaus blackmails Bonnie into breaking Esther's spell by threatening Abby and showing her Kol is watching Jeremy. Stefan lures Finn out of the bar where he is having tequila with Sage, he fials to stake him, but Elena and Matt use Matt's stake to kill Finn. Bonnie manages to unlink all the Originals making Finn the only on to die. As Sage comes after Stefan she ends up dying. They then realize that when one Original dies their entire bloodline dies.

Break on Through-03/22/12

Sage helps Damon find the reamins of the White Oak Tree, but after realizing the Originals are linked and her true love Finn will die, she betrays Damon. Alaric attacks Meredith but Stefan saves her. Abby leaves after attacking Jamie. Bonnie gives Alaric magic herbs to help him; Stefan and Damon find another way to kill the Originals.

1912-03/15/12

The present day murders remind Damon of a similar crime spree a century earlier. In flashbacks of 1912 Damon remembers a vampire named Sage who showed him "women are not just prey but pleasure also". Sheriff Forbes finds Alaric to be the prime suspect. After breaking into Meridith's apartment Elena and Matt find a missing Gilbert journal. Meredith gives Alaric shocking news. Meanwhile Rebekah searches for Mystic Falls' oldest landmark.

All my Children-02/16/12

After Elena finds out what Damon had done she finds out no one cares. Bonnie and Abby try to appease nature by helping Esther carry out her plan. Stefan and Damon try to stop Esther-otherwise Elena is dead. Abby goes through a traumatic transition-Esther and Finn flee when the other Originals gain up on them.

Bringing out the Dead-02/02/12

The mysterious deaths in Mystic Falls gets tied back to Elena. Bill Forbes is furious with Dr.Fell for using vampire blood to cure the injuries Tyler inflicted. Things get worse for Caroline when Bill is killed and turned into a vampire-especially when he chooses if he'll turn or not... Elijah brings Damon and Stefan to a "truce" dinner with Klaus. Everything takes a horrible turn when Damon reunites Klaus with Rebekah, Kol, and Finn (the other Original siblings). Alaric is the next victim of the weird killings but doppelganger Elena saves him. Bonnie and Abby unlock the locked coffin and the Mother Original makes a surprising appearance.

The Ties that Bind-01/19/12

Through a witch dream Bonnie and Elena search for Abby Bennett. Klaus and Stefan negotiate Klaus' family coffins. With the help of Bill Forbes Tyler tries to regain his free will. Damon and Alaric find out about Dr. Meredith Fall's dark secret. Abby compelled, gets Klaus coffins back-except for one. Elena tells Stefan shocking news and Damon gives Klaus a shocking surprise. Elijah.

Our Town-01/12/12

Caroline is in no mood to celebrate her birthday but is surprised by Elena, Bonnie and Matt when they give her a small party in a weird place. Damon and Stefan argue about how to handle Klaus when Stefan goes reckless. Bonnie is angry with Elena when she finds out Jeremy is leaving. In trying to show Caroline, Klaus can't control him Tyler ends up doing exactly what Klaus told him to do. Jeremy leaves Mystic Falls. Mystic Falls deals with a new tragedy.

The New Deal-01/05/12

Bonnie starts to have weird dreams about the witches' massacre house. Where she finds the coffins of the Originals. Stefan asks Bonnie for help in hiding the coffins from Klaus. Bonnie then informs Stefan the coffin she saw opening in her dream is the key to killing Klaus. Unfortunately it is locked with a spell. To send a message to Elena and Damon, Klaus sends a hybrid to kill Jeremy but instead sends Alaric to the hospital- where he meets Dr.Meredith Fell. Elena makes a deal with Klaus to save Jeremy. Then back home Elena makes Damon compel Jeremy to leave Mystic Falls. At the end Damon and Elena share a "special moment".

Homecoming-11/10/11

On the night of homecoming, Rebekah gives Elena conflicting emotions about their new found plan- which includes Mikael. Damon, Elena and Mikael come up with a plan to kill Klaus. Caroline and Matt are shocked by Tyler's "sire" behavior especially when he helps Klaus put his latest plan into action. Determined to kill Klaus, Damon leads down a dangerous path. And Stefan finally traps Klaus in a conflicting position.

Ordinary People- 11/03/11

With help from Elena and Bonnie, Alaric tries to decipher the meaning behind the stories of the Originals. In doing so, they discover Mikael is "Papa Original" (in terms of Damon), the father of the Original children. Elena and Rebekah go through a mean girl struggle where Rebekah reveals ancient Original stories, the story of how the Originals truly became vampires.

Ghost World-10/27/11

In trying to send all the ghosts away, Bonnie ends up giving them all physical forms. Elena then catches Jeremy kissing Anna. Bonnie is reunited with Grams, Damon with Mason, Stefan with Lexi, and all the tomb vampires appear to reek havoc. Lexi helps Stefan find his humanity and Mason tells Damon he knows where to find a weapon that can kill Klaus. In the end Bonnie sends the ghosts away and Damon and Mason find a secret cave telling the stories of the Originals.

Smells like Teen Spirit-10/20/11

Matt and Vicki's relationship hits an all time high when Matt decides to bring her back. Jeremy and Anna's relationship begins to grow even bigger. Bonnie worries about Matt and Jeremy's relationships with their ghosts. After Vicki's brought back she goes after Elena- who has her own agenda against Stefan. After Alaric and Elena finally get Stefan, Vicki sets Alaric's car on fire but Bonnie stopped the magic Vicki had Matt use. Elena proves to Stefan she "is strong enough". Damon receives an unwelcome visitor.

The Reckoning-10/13/11

Caroline wants Bonnie, Elena, Matt and Tyler to have a fun Senior Prank night. But things go wrong when Rebekah, Klaus and Stefan show up. Klaus finds out what will keep his hybrids alive by turning Tyler into one. Matt finds out Vicki is trying to reach out to him and he almost kills himself; but Bonnie saves him. Matt finds he can see Vicki after killing himself. Stefan shuts off his humanity. Katherinne and Damon go to find Mikael the Vampire- Vampire Hunter

Disturbing Behavior-10/06/11

Gloria finds out the doppelganger is still alive but thanks to Katherine she never tells anyone. Bonnie and Jeremy try to do magic but Anna tells Jeremy the "darkness" is there. Damon gets angry when he things Elena is pretending he is Stefan - he then snaps and kills Alaric. Caroline's father Bill ends up being immune to compulsion without vervain. Rebekah finds out Stefan is hiding something. Katherine and Damon go on a road trip.

The End of the Affair- 09/29/11

After a failed attempt to create Hybrids Klaus and Stefan return to Chicago, a place Stefan hadn't been since the 1920's. Katherine calls Damon who finds out she is tracking Klaus. This is a flashback episode. Stefan learns that he had already met Klaus and another Original vampire- Rebekah. Elena learns of a dark ripper secret that Stefan kept. Klaus removes the dagger from Rebekah and she comes back to life. Tyler and Sheriff Forbes save Caroline from Bill Forbes- Caroline's father.

The Hybrid-09/22/11

Klaus tries to make an army of Hybrids but it ends up failing. Carol Lockwood test Tyler with vervain to see if Caroline turned him, in doing so Tyler decides to show his mother who he really is. Jeremy and Matt try to reach out to Vicki but Matt backs out at the last second. Alaric, Damon and Elena try to find Stefan but come across Klaus' failed Hybrids. Stefan saves Damon's life again but is angry he had to do so. Caroline wakes up finding herself tied up and inn the presence of someone from her past.

The Birthday-09/15/11

Elena is so focused on finding out whether or not Stefan is still alive she forgets about her birthday. Jeremy struggles with seeing Vicki and Anna. Damon and Alaric start to track Stefan. They end up finding out he is in "mid-ripper". Damon wants Elena to be extremly careful because Klaus thinks Elena is still dead. Stefan compels Andi to "jump", she ends up killing herself. Elena comes to terms with how Stefan is acting. Caroline and Tyler's relationship takes a turn.

As I lay Dying-05/12/11

The SECOND season finale has betrayl at every turn. Klaus kills Elijah, gives Katherine his hybrid blood to save Damon and gives Stefan blood over and over and over again. Sheriff Forbes accidentally shoots Jeremy, Bonnie confesses her love for him and preforms magic in order to save him; in doing so she is told there will be consequences. Sheriff Forbes and Caroline have a bonding moment. In the end Jeremy realizes the consequences of coming back to life-Anna and Vicki.

*I need to just explain one thing for the 2nd season finale. Stefan did what he did because he felt he owed his brother, Damon, after everything Stefan has done/put Damon through. Sure it seems like he betrayed Elena and ruined his relationship just to save his brother; but I feel as though just because Elena and Stefan love each other, there was 145 years of hate between Stefan and Damon. Like Stefan said in the first season, everything started with Stefan- especially the fact that Damon turned because of Stefan. Stefan did what he did with Klaus because he OWED Damon*

The Sun Also Rises-05/05/11

With the full moon coming Damon gets put in a dangerous situation, Tyler hurries to find a safe place to turn. Klaus and Greta start the ritual and things start to spin out of control. Damon shows Stefan his "dirty little secret".

The Last Day-04/28/11

Damon goes to extraordinary lengths to save Elena from her impending doom. Tyler returns to Mystic Falls only to be captured with Caroline by one of Klaus' witches. With the help of Matt, Damon rescues Caroline and Tyler but things start to go bad as Tyler starts to transform. Klaus comes up with a back up were-wold and a back up vampire: Jules and Jenna!

Klaus-04/21/11

 Stefan and Damon are furious when they find out about Elena's new friend and plan. Elena finally learns the truth from Elijah about Katherine and Klaus. Because of Alaric, or Klaus, Jenna finds out the truth about vampires. Stefan and Damon go "fang-to-fang". The real Klaus makes an appearance and Greta shows up looking pretty happy.

The Last Dance-04/14/11

As the high school gets ready for another decade dance Elena starts recieving odd messages from Klaus through an unusual source. Jeremy worries that Bonnie isn't strong enough to help Elena and goes to Stefan. Matt and Caroline attend the Dance together with Damon and Alaric as chaperones. But Klaus surprises everyone and Damon shocks everyone with a new plan and a surprising evening.

Know Thy Enemy-04/07/11

Elena and Alaric both lash out at John when Isobel unexpectedly shows up. Which leaves Jenna upset and devastated. Bonnie, Damon and Jeremy travel to find the place to harnest her ancestor's powers. Heartbroken, Caroline is confused about Matt. Stefan and Damon are excited about the fact they have a "secret weapon".

The House Guest-02/24/11

Even though Elena, Damon and Stefan are tired of Katherine's constant mind games, they realize that Katherine's knowledge of Mystic Falls history will help them survive. Caroline finds a new way to get Matt's attention after feeling frustrated with their relationship. Alaric reveals some shocking information to Jenna, and Katherine makes a different kind of confession to Damon. Stefan and Bonnie try to convince Jonas and Luka that they should all be working together. But Jonas' lack of trust leads to a violent and intense confrontation.

The Dinner Party- 02/17/10

Stefan tells Elena about a dark time from his past and the unexpected person who changed everything for him. Jona gets the truth out of Luka and makes his feelings clear to Bonnie and Jeremy. Damon schedules a dinner party with Alaric, Jenna, and Andie in attempt to catch Elijah off gaurd. But some last minute information disrupts Damon's plan.

Crying Wolf-02/10/11

Stefan and Elena make plans for a romantic weekend at the Gilbert's house, not realizing that someone has followed them. Jenna starts worrying that Alaric isn't being completely honest with her. Jules explains the significance of the sun and moon curse to Tyler; but leaves out an important detail. Damon attends a tea party at the Historical Society to get a chance to talk to Elijah, but Elijah refuses to divulge any secrets. With help from Caroline and Jeremy, Bonnie deceives Luka into giving up some surprising new information. Tyler offers Matt some relationship advice.

Daddy Issues-02/03/11

Elena, Damon, and Jenna are surprised when Johnathan Gilbert returns to Mystic Falls. Caroline tells Stefan about her conversation with Tyler, and Stefan tries to help a confused Tyler. Jeremy consoles Bonnie after her upsetting conversation with Jonas. A violent situation breaks out after Jules takes a hostage.

The Descent-01/27/11

Elena has a new plan for the future, but Stefan has his own thoughts about how she should handle the situation. Damon tries to get the truth out of Jules and asks Elena to watch a dying Rose; but things quickly become dangerous. Matt and Caroline is surprised to see how Tyler reacts to her generosity Damon finds it difficult to hide his true feelings when a life-and-death situation impacts him more than he expected.

By the Light of the Moon-12/09/10

With a full moon approaching, Caroline helps Tyler prepare for the inevitable transformation. Stefan and Katherine play mind games on each other, and Damon and Alaric become suspicious when a mysterious visitor named Jules shows up looking for Mason Lockwood. Elena is frusterated at Jeremy and her friends' excessive efforts to protect her. Bonnie and Luka team up to work on a spell, although they continue to keep secrets. Elijah makes an unexpected appearance with an offer that could change everything.

The Sacrifice-12/02/10

Elena comes up with her own plan to deal with her situation and offers Rose a tempting incentive for her help. But when Rose discovers Elena's true intentions, she calls Damon for help. Tyler shows Caroline the Lockwood's cellar, where she makes a terrifying discovery. Jeremy and Bonnie attempt to retrieve the moonstone from Katherine, but Stefan ends up in danger when things don't go as planned. Bonnie and Luka become closer.

Katerina-11/11/10

Elena is put in peril when she searches for information about Katherine's past. Knowing that Stefan would disagree with her plan, Elena swears Caroline to secrecy. Meanwhile, Bonnie and Jeremy neet a new Student, Luka, with an unusual family history. Damon uses a new-found confidence to discover the purpose of the moonstone.

Rose-11/04/10

Jeremy teams up with Bonnie after she casts difficult spell. Stefan and Damon both come to Elena's assistance, and in the process, learn some information about Vampires, people and events in the distant path. The brothers also come to reach a new understanding. Meanwhile, Caroline tries to make things easier for Tyler for the next full moon.

Masquerade-10/28/10

Damon and Stefan devise a new plan to deal with Katherine at the Lockwood's masquerade ball. Katherine asks her friend, Lucy, to join her at the ball. Bonnie, Alaric, and Jeremy do their best to help Stefan and Damon with their plan... but Katherine has a surprise that none of them expected. The evening takes a bad turn when Tyler and Matt start doing shots with their friends.

Plan B-10/21/10

Jeremy offers to help Alaric and Damon deal with Katherine, despite Elena's concerns about Jeremy's safety. Caroline and her mother share some rare quality time together. When Bonnie learns some new information about Mason, she decides to share it with Stefan, which leads to Damon taking action on his own.

Kill or Be Killed- 10/07/10

While Stefan and Damon argue over how to handle the Lockwoods, Tyler learns more about his Uncle Mason and the family curse. Despite Elena's wishes, Jeremy gets closer to the Lockwood mystery by hanging out with Tyler. Sheriff Forbes receives some shocking information from Mason, leading to a chaotic night.

Memory Lane-09/30/10

Stefan takes more dramatic actions as he tries to discover why Katherine has returned to Mystic Falls, and he is stunned by what he finds out about events unfolded in 1864. Damon tries using a new method to resolve his issues with Mason, but his decisions have awful consequences. Tyler pressures to tell Mason to tell him the truth about the Lockwood history. Stefan and Elena are faced with limited options when Katherine gives them an ultimatum.

Bad Moon Rising-09/23/10

Elena, Damon and Alaric travel to Duke University to study Isobel's research on folklore and paranormal phenomena, hoping to find some clues to the mystery behind the lockwoods. Vanessa, a former student of Isobel's, helps them sort through the research and ends up learning more then she wanted. Stefan encounters something in the woods, and Tyler uncovers something scary about Uncle Mason.

Brave New World-09/16/10

Caroline, feeling confused and desperate, joins her friends at the Mystic Falls Carnival after being released from the hospital. Damon wants to take immediate action, but Stefan and Elena offer her support. Matt tries to tell Caroline how he feels about her despite being confused about her behavior. Damon starts to suspect Mason Lockwood and tries to use Tyler's short temper to get Mason to reveal his secret. Bonnie takes her frustrations with everything going on around her on Damon.

The Return-09/09/10

Elena returns home and is horrified to learn what happened to Jeremy and Uncle John. Bonnie, Matt, and Damon wait at the hospital with Sheriff Forbes, who is anxiously awaiting to hear whether Caroline will be okay. Elena and Damon share a confusing conversation of the evening's events. Damon realizes Katherine is back and he and Stefan try to find out why. Tyler's Uncle Mason, arrives to help console his family who are grieving after Mayor Lockwood's death.

When the two finally meet, Isobel refuses to answer most of Elena's questions, but instead reveals that she too, is looking for the mysterious invention that John Gilbert has been looking for.

Blood Brothers-04/29/10

As Stefan tries to come to terms with his past, he and Damon reveal pieces of their history to Elena, including the truth about how they turned into vampires. Pearl and Johnathan Gilbert have an ugly confrontation. Damon and Alaric attempt to track down a mysterious invention before Johnathan can find it. Jeremy and Anna's relationship continues to grow.
